Carrd
Carrd makes simple, cheap, one-page sites that are easy to launch for landing pages and personal pages.
A solo founder's stack has one constraint no team has: it has to be carried by one person, cheaply, without seats to share the load. We picked five tools our directory rates highest for a working-of-one business, judged against their official pricing pages (verified 2026-08-31 through 2026-09-18) on the axes that decide it: what you pay at zero revenue, whether you can do the job alone, and how ugly the bill gets when you grow. Carrd gets the website live for the least money in the directory — Pro Standard is $19/year for 10 sites and a custom domain, annual billing only, with a free tier of 3 sites. Tally handles the forms with unlimited free responses, and its Pro plan is $29/month billed monthly or $290/year annual (about $24/month), so it never meters how many people answer. Cal.com covers scheduling: the individual plan is free with unlimited event types and calendars, and paid only kicks in for Teams at $12/mo/user annual ($15 monthly) or Organizations at $28/mo/user annual with SSO, SCIM and compliance. Bitwarden secures the logins for $19.80/year ($1.65/month) on Premium, with a free tier that already gives unlimited passwords and devices, and Families at $47.88/year. Plausible is the one paid-from-day-one pick: no permanent free tier, just a 30-day trial, then Starter $9/month for 10k pageviews, with a free AGPL self-host edition as the escape hatch. The pattern in 2026 holds — the best solo tools are free until they are load-bearing, then cost a flat ten to thirty dollars a month, not per-seat.
Pro Standard is $19/yr for 10 sites - a custom-domain landing page for the price of two coffees, and you will not outgrow a one-pager for your first product.
Free tier: Yes
Paid from: $19/yr (Pro Standard; annual billing only (10 sites, custom domain); free = 3 sites)

Free tier: Yes
Paid from: $19.80/yr (Premium; $19.80/yr ($1.65/mo); Families $47.88/yr; free tier = unlimited passwords & devices (re-checked 2026-09-09: Teams $4/user/mo and Enterprise $6/user/mo published — the open-source ladder stays under half of LastPass/1Password at team level; self-hosting on Enterprise))
Bitwarden is open-source password management across platforms that you can self-host, with a complete free plan.
Bottom line: None of these will be the last tool you buy, but together they carry a pre-revenue business for $19 a year (Carrd's annual Pro) and everything else free. The trap is buying the team tier of a tool because a blog said it was 'best overall' - as a solo founder, self-hostable and flat-priced beat per-seat every time.
A landing page (Carrd), a form (Tally), scheduling (Cal.com), analytics (Plausible) and a password manager (Bitwarden) - all of which start free or near-free and cover the whole pre-launch motion.
Tally (unlimited responses), Cal.com's individual plan and Bitwarden's core tier are genuinely free indefinitely; Plausible is free only if you self-host; Carrd gives you 3 free sites.
When a free tier blocks revenue - a custom domain on Carrd/Tally, or removing branding for a client-facing form - not before you have customers.
